Millions of people around the world have seen the television Bio-pic Roots, which premiered in the United States in the Fall of 1976. It won many awards and remains one of television history’s most culturally successful films. It was based on Alex Haley’s novel, which sold one million copies, received a Pulitzer Prize, and has been translated into more than 30 languages. An epic movie often has its source in a powerful and timeless book.

The book which is the foundation for the Christian faith is the Bible. From Genesis to Revelation, it is marvelous filed with God’s plan for creation, including each and every one of us. One chapter in the book Psalm, the 119th celebrates the power and necessity of God’s Word in our lives. This chapters shares wonderfully how the word, lights our path, revives our souls, and guards our steps. Throughout the scriptures we find wisdom, guidance, life, and joy. “Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever, for they are the rejoicing of my heart”.

God as our Lord calls us to base our lives on the Word and share the joy of knowing God with people who are longing to find life. “I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes forever, to the very end”.

What a book! What a God! Truly, the Word is a lamp to guide our feet and a light for our path. The laws within are our treasure; they are our heart’s delight. We are determined to keep Your guidance and direction to the very end.

We know the Bible, God’s eternal truth, can be trusted today and always.

Truly, choosing to lean on the word of God not only helps us, but guides us to extend the profound love within us, towards all. When been touched by the word of God, any simple verse and then touched another longing soul? Please leave a comment, I will even write you back.
